February – Culture is at the heart of Eni’s new communication campaign, which aims to use advertising channels to showcase the talents of emerging artists.
4 May – Eni and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) inaugurate, on the MIT campus, the Eni-MIT Solar Frontiers Center (SFC) that will promote research into advanced solar technologies through projects ranging from new photovoltaic materials to the production of hydrogen from solar energy.
25 June – Eni launches a new strategic partnership with the Earth Institute of Columbia University for the promotion of sustainable development.
June – Eni successfully drills a second well at the Jangkrik gas field, located in the Muara Bakau permit, east of Borneo, in Indonesia.
July – Eni begins production at the new Arcadia onshore oil well, in Egypt.
October – Eni and Sonangol announce the success of the exploration campaign in deep waters in Angolan offshore.
November – Eni renegotiates an agreement in Ecuador and signs, in Quito, a new service contract for the Villano field.
