Back to the timeline1 July – A technical committee for coordinating company management and a technical committee for drawing up reorganising plans were set up.
July – IEOC, the International Egyptian Oil Company, signed an agreement with the Egyptian company, EGPC, for extracting over 30% of the total production of crude oil from the Sinai deposits.
19 September – Eni signed an agreement with the Brazilian Getulio Vargas foundation for the development and upkeep of water resources in the Pantanal region (Mato Grosso).
22 October – Eni signed a new agreement with the Tunisian authorities for the purchase and transportation of natural gas, by Snam, through the trans-Mediterranean gas pipeline.
29 November – Agip Petroli Spa was set up in Rome, for refining and distributing petroleum products.
Eni commenced a study into the production of electricity through high temperatures and photovoltaic conversion.
